Vans vs Vans

Work | Comments (0) admin @ 5:40 pm

VANS vs VANS, a new site we just created, where we pit one shoe against the other. Vote for the shoe that you support, and destroy the other. So far the Era is the most supported shoe. Good to see a brand daring to pit its product against each other. Music is by TOOKOO.

A look at the effort gone into the making of a new Coke spot for the Asia Pacific Region. This spot was shot by Jonas Åkerlund, who also director-ed Lady gaga’s “telephone” and “Paparazzi” MTV. This was done when I was @ Wieden + Kennedy. Will place the spot up here later.

I have been working on a Coke campaign that consist of a TV spot and print media. Going though quite a bit of iterations. Shown below is a mockup of one of the executions that we will be out soon. The idea is really simple : “Drinking Coke is like taking a roller-coaster ride/journey though Coca-Cola’s Spencerian logo.

News, Work | Comments (0) admin @ 5:03 pm

I have been invited to be a judge of student’s work at this year’s One Show in China. The students were tasked to promote a Campaign by HP called “My computer my stage”. They were tasked with creating content that could potentially be ‘viral’ in nature. Attached below are some entries, Which I found were interesting. Bear in Mind these are kids who have not graduated yet.  OneShowChina

Converse lyrics launched

News, Work | Comments (0) admin @ 10:47 pm

The team has worked on the Converse Lyrics campaign for a while. Finally the audience participation component of the campaign has launched.”LET’S PLAY” is the tune QSBS (Queen Sea Big Shark) has written, the idea is for youth to write lyrics to the tune  the band has created. Sad that this idea is so small now, the initial idea was to get 10 bands around Asia to record a track each for a total of 10 tracks and get the public to write the lyrics to the tracks and release the music as a collaborative edition converse CD.Well, guess the budget didnt allow for it.Bummer…

let’s play

China’s Oldest Skater

Work | Comments (0) admin @ 1:29 am

This was an idea I had for Vans, basically telling asking people if they have seen “laobai” (old white) China’s oldest skater. We show him in skating in locations around china from the 50s to present on video blogs, then get a fan base around him… Next we get Vans to track him down. Once Vans have tracked him down, they invite people to come to an event to get to know him. Vans unviles him at a launch event, at the event Laobai takes off his beard, and he is none other then Steve Caballero the lengendary Skater. This is a sample mockup test we did in beijing. Funny thing was some people thought he was really old, and he attracted a huge crowd.
